AHT Policies
Department of Animal Health Technology
Diploma Policy
Students enrolled in the program for more than the length of the course of study and have completed the prescribed number of credits will be approved for graduation and awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Health Technology.
(A) Understand the university's founding spirit and educational philosophy, follow the spirit of animal welfare, have a philosophy of symbiosis between humans and animals and a sense of ethics, and acquire rich humanity and broad perspective.
(B) Acquire fundamental theories and skills related to animal nursing.
(C) Acquire the applied theories, techniques, and problem-solving skills required in the increasingly sophisticated and specialized field of veterinary medicine.
(D) Develop communication and social skills and acquire the ability to be a professional, leader, and veterinary nurse who has a sense of mission and contributes to society.
Curriculum Policy
Including liberal arts education subjects and specialized education.
(A) In the liberal arts education subjects, subjects such as humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, and language and information are arranged and connected to the specialized education subjects to acquire the idea of symbiosis between humans and animals and a sense of ethics and to cultivate rich humanity and a broad perspective, following the spirit of animal welfare.
(B) In the primary subjects for specialization, students learn the fundamental theories and techniques required for animal nursing, such as Introduction to Life Science, Introduction to Animal Nursing, Introduction to Animal Human Relations, and Animal Morphology and Function, which are positioned as an introduction to the specialization subjects.
(C) In the specialized subjects, subjects corresponding to advanced and specialized veterinary medicine are arranged. Subjects such as animal nursing social work, animal oral care theory, animal rehabilitation, elderly animal nursing, and exotic animal nursing are arranged as distinctive subjects. In addition, subjects such as animal nursing social work, animal oral care theory, animal rehabilitation, elderly animal nursing, and exotic animal nursing are arranged as unique subjects.
(D) In general subjects, students will develop social skills through training and volunteer activities, assembly hours (self-directed education and career education), internships, graduation theses, and other subjects, and build basic human development and leadership skills as members of society.

Diploma Policy

(C) Acquire the applied theories, techniques, and problem-solving skills required in the diversified and expanding pet-related industries.
(D) Develop communication and social skills and acquire the ability to be a professional, a leader, a person with a sense of mission, and a contributor to society.

(C) In the specialized subjects, in response to the diversification and expansion of pet-related industries, distinctive subjects such as human-animal relationships, public health, pest science, zoos and aquariums, pet-related industries,animal-assisted therapy, and assistance docks will be arranged. Students will learn applied theories, techniques,and problem-solving skills as professionals.
(D) Those who, as a member of society, can take an international perspective, value communication, and strive to learn and find solutions on their own.

(C) Those interested in animal-human relations and have the basic academic skills necessary to acquire basic and specialized knowledge and skills.
(D) Those who, as a member of society, can take an international perspective, value communication, and strive to learn and find solutions on their own.
Grad Policies
Graduate School of Animal Health Technology (Master’s Degree)
Diploma Policy
(A) Acquire a sense of ethics that respects life and a broad perspective, which are the educational goals.
(B) Have specialized knowledge in veterinary nursing required for advanced veterinary medicine in veterinary hospitals, etc., and acquire problem-solving skills. Have specialized knowledge in veterinary nursing required for advanced veterinary care at veterinary hospitals, and have advanced problem-solving skills.
(C) Possess knowledge of human-animal co-existence required in animal-related companies and animal-related organizations and acquire problem-solving skills.
(D) Have specialized knowledge of public health required in animal nurse training schools (special training schools), veterinary hospitals, animal-related companies, and animal-related organizations, and have acquired education, leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities that can contribute to society.
(E) Have acquired the ability to think logically through research related to the thesis in each specialized field.
Curriculum Policy
The following basic subjects and specialized subjects (Animal Health Technology and Human Animal Relations)will be arranged.
(A) In the basic subjects based on the earlier Bachelor Degree studies,Advanced Bioethics and Advanced Animal Protection and Welfare are placed as compulsory subjects. Veterinary Nursing I, Special Theory of Human Animal Relations, and Special Theory of Human and Animal Environmental Science, which are the foundation of the Veterinary Nursing and Human Animal Relations fields, will be placed as compulsory subjects.
(B) In the specialized subject of Animal Health Technology, Applied Veterinary Nursing I and Seminar, and Applied Veterinary Nursing II and Seminar are arranged to develop veterinary nursing skills in advanced animal health care.
(C) In the field of specialized Human Animal Relations, Applied Human Animal Relations I and Exercises, Applied Human Animal Relations II and Exercises are arranged to develop the ability to understand the relationship between humans and animals.
(D) In basic subjects, special theory of veterinary nursing education is included to develop the ability to understand the history and system of veterinary nursing education. In the specialized subjects, Applied Animal and Human Relations I and Exercises are included to cultivate the ability to educate and guide public health.
(E) In order to develop research and problem-solving skills in the field of veterinary nursing or human animal relations, and to prepare a master's thesis, research methodology and special research are included in the basic subjects.
